🇫🇷 Entre AMERICANA et FOLK ROCK CALIFORNIEN,
la musique de Mary G & TSFO est un voyage initiatique, une réminiscence des 70’s.
Une longue ballade sur les frontières du temps et des saisons.
La bande son d'un Road Trip entre montagnes et océan, entre les Alpes et la Californie de Laurel Canyon, pouvant transformer n’importe quel coucher de soleil en « Sunset », façon Pacific Coast higway...
En 2009 Mary G pose son sac, après plus de 15 ans à bourlinguer le monde pour y suivre vagues et flocons. C'est ainsi que les premières chansons voient le jour, en mode folk-singer dans un premier temps.
Et ce qui n'était alors qu'un "side project" intime deviendra le point de départ d'une aventure qui dure maintenant depuis plus de 10 ans et dont les souvenirs accumulés au fil du temps dans des carnets de voyages seront la base d'un répertoire original qui n'aura cesse d'évoluer.
Tout comme la formation, qui, au gré des rencontres et des amitiés musicales, passera lors des premières dates
en 2011 en mode « folk-singer » guitare/voix sobre et dépouillée à un trio puis à un quatuor pour le second album.
Après plusieurs EP, le son brut du premier album - (Indian Summer ©2016) entre Folk et Hillbilly - laissera place à un deuxième - (Wild Flowers © 2019) glissant vers un Folk Rock planant et plus aérien...

Leur musique est un hommage avéré aux fantômes de Laurel Canyon, et au folk rugueux de Bleeker street. Une passerelle entre Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Bob Dylan, les Eagles, The Band, Van Morisson, America, ou encore Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Acteurs incontournables de la scène Americana européenne depuis plus de dix ans, MG & les TSFO puisent également leurs influences parmi leurs contemporains tels que:
The JayHawks, Black Berry Smoke, Israel Nash, Shovel and Rope, Sixto Rodriguez ou Ray LaMontagne.
Leur répertoire Folk Rock se teinte parfois d’une patine country au son d'un lapsteel planant, alternant avec grâce mélodies envoutantes accoustiques et envolées electriques. Un mariage improbable entre Neil Young et la guitare de Sir Gilmour des Pink Floyd...
A l'instar du E.Street band de Bruce Springsteen, la géométrie variable du groupe offre une large palette de couleurs aux chansons de Mary G grâce à une solide section rythmique, composée de Mathilde Levron à la batterie et de Chris Barillot à la basse. Mr.Grainville emmenant lui, sa Telecaster et son Lap-Steel entre rugissements blues et horizons cosmiques...
Aucune prétention à vouloir réinventer la musique, mais juste être sincère et continuer le boulot.
Les compositions originales du groupe -affichant plus de 500 concerts au compteur / trois ep, deux albums et un troisème en préparation- sont taillées pour la route et les grands espaces.
Jamais aussi bon que lorsque le soleil commence à descendre, entre chiens et loups, ‘’at Beer o’clock’’...

In 2009 Mary G put down his bag, after more than 15 years traveling the world following waves and snow.
This is how the first songs were born, initially in folk-singer mode.
And what was then only an intimate “side project” will become the starting point of an adventure that lasts now for more than 10 years and whose memories accumulated over time in travel diaries
will be the basis of an original repertoire which will continue to evolve.
